What to bring to a girls' PG: a packing list
For college girls and interns moving into a PG in Rohini — what to pack, what to buy here, and what to leave at home.
Packing for your first PG is easier than packing for a hostel: the room is already furnished, so you only bring what makes it yours. This list is what we suggest to girls joining PG for Girls in Rohini in Sector 7. It works for most PGs in Delhi.
Documents
- A government photo ID (Aadhaar or similar) and a couple of photocopies
- Passport-size photos
- College ID or admission letter (or your office ID / offer letter for interns)
- Your parents' phone numbers, written down as well as saved
Bedding and room
- Two sets of bedsheets, a pillow and pillow covers
- A light blanket now, and a quilt for December–January (Delhi winters are cold)
- A small lock for your almirah
- A multi-plug extension cord
- A desk lamp if you study late
Daily use
- A steel water bottle and a mug
- Slippers, a bathroom bag and a towel or two
- Basic medicines, a thermometer and any prescriptions
- An umbrella for the monsoon months
What to buy here instead
Toiletries, detergent, snacks and stationery are cheaper to buy after you arrive. The Sector 7 market is a short walk away, and Blinkit, Zepto, Swiggy and Zomato all deliver to the door.
What to leave at home
Expensive jewellery, large furniture and extra appliances. Keep your laptop and valuables in your locked almirah.
